Those Who's dreams were bombed.

2016 was a very horrific year for Quetta. Where in August a Cream of Balochistan Court Bar was bombed and killed. In which many popular and well-known lawyers got killed including Abdul Qahir Shah, Baz Muhammad Kakar, Sangat Jamladini, Mir Chakar Rind and more. In the same year, enemies once again targeted Quetta and this time their aim was another Piler of System. A Police Training center, where our protectors get training.

PTC After Attack

In the cold night of 24^thOctober, the air, which could not recover from Civil hospital incident yet hearda bomb blast on Sariab Road. Quetta is a place, where if we hear a bust, we put on news channels that there might be a blast. On that we did same, when we on the news, we saw some horrible news, news same as APS attack. The news was The Police Training Center of Quetta was attacked. This was not the first time this center was attacked, in 2006, BLA fires rocket on the building which fell into the vicinity.

The institution was established as PTCRC in Kalat in 1963. With the separatist movement growing force at the time, the commanders be afraid of an attack. So, the center was shifted to Quetta the same year. It was ultimately transformed into a training school in 1978. After left over a school till the 1990s, it was switched into a college in 2003 under the direction of Shoaib Suddle, a former IG.

Three militants entered the training center around 11:10 pm, while cadets were sleeping, and opened fire before taking hundreds of police cadets’ hostage and engaging in a standoff with forces. They first pursued the watch tower guard, and after swapping fire, killed him and were able to enter the academy fields. At least 61 people were killed and over 165 people were injured. Most of the deaths were affected when two of the attackers blew themselves up. The third was shot dead by FC. The area was tumbled into dark when a counterattack was introduced, and LEAs tossed up a barricade while ambulances zipped in and out, taking the injured to hospitals. Military helicopters circled above. The cadets were rescued from the college following an operation taken out by SSG. While rescuing the cadets, An Army officer, Capt. Rohullah, got martyred in clash with suicide bomber.

The injured cadets were transported to Civil Hospital. Those in crucial condition were moved to CMH. Security measures were made in and outside the Civil Hospital to fend off any unfortunate incident, especially in the wake of August 8^th. The Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) asserted blame for the attack. They relesed the vedio statement of bombers and their pictures, who were non-pakistanis.

There are many Questions raised at the time, which are still unanswered. The boundary wall, which was weaken and near to collapse, why wasn’t reconstructed? The recruits who were passed out, why they were called back and without any security arrangements? Though in Nov 2016, CM announced the arrest of mastermind, but the families of victims are still searching for answers.
